Hello to WorldSkills UK LIVE

The Skills Show, host event of the IMI Skill Auto finals has been rebranded. From now on the event held each year at Birmingham’s NEC in November will be known as WorldSkills UK LIVE.

Dr Neil Bentley, Chief Executive at WorldSkills UK, said:  “We are excited to announce that The Skills Show will now be known as WorldSkills UK LIVE. LIVE will build on achievements to date, creating more vibrant and dynamic activity, enabling thousands more young people to speak with employers, colleges, independent training providers and apprentices about their career options and choices.

By aligning more closely with the WorldSkills UK brand, it reinforces the important role of the National Finals, which will continue to be centre stage at the event and how this leads to the UK competing on the global stage”

Launched in 2012, following the UK’s hosting of the hugely successful international WorldSkills Competition, The Skills Show has grown into the nation’s largest skills, apprenticeships and careers event.  It attracted over 70,000 visitors last year and hosted the prestigious National Finals of the WorldSkills UK Competitions. IMI’s careers team will be on hand to provide advice and guidance and the Skill Auto competitions will continue to be a central feature of the engineering sector, attracting support from many major manufacturers and suppliers keen to help showcase the benefits and opportunities of a career in the automotive industry.
