What’s the first step?

Are you studying towards a level 3 qualification or have achieved a Level 3 qualification within the last 12 months (from the 1st March)? Yes? Keeping reading…

Speak to your tutor or employer about the competition. You must be nominated to be able to take part. They can register interest at by clicking here or can nominate online at the World Skills website between the 1st March and the 7th April 2018.

Once nominated, you will receive an email. Complete the online test before the 7th April 2018.

What to expect next?

The top scorers from each stream will be contacted by the Skill Auto team. You will then be invited to one of the following venues depending on your skill –

  • 3M Training Centre, Atherstone
  • Henry Ford Academy, Daventry
  • Body Repair venue TBC
  • Scania GB Training Centre, Loughborough

Then what happens?

The top 6 from each stream will then be invited to the Skills Show at the NEC! You will have the chance to win a Gold, Silver or Bronze medal. Many of our previous finalists have their careers accelerated, it’s fantastic on your CV and it really is a once in a lifetime opportunity.

It’s doesn’t have to stop there!

The route into the World Skills International UK Squad is by competing in the IMI Skill Auto Finals at the Skills Show. The next WorldSkills competition is in Kazan, Russia.

Entry requirements – competitors must be under the age of 22 in the year of the World Skills competition.
