About Us

SkillAuto is a partner company of registered charity WorldSkills UK

We are a 'not for profit' organisation, whose primary objective is to ensure that technical standards and expertise within the UK's automotive industry are constantly developed in line with employer's requirements. We achieve this by identifying and selecting the UK's most talented, young automotive technicians to compete in professionally organised and challenging skills competitions.

The IMI run regional and national competitions for the motor industry in mechanical repair and servicing for light vehicles  autobody repair, and car painting. Winners of the national competitions become recognised as UK national champions who, in some cases, may have the opportunity to compete internationally at the WorldSkills Competition
